I was asked to do a fall photo session with my good friend Stephanie and her family. It was so great to do photos for this family and it was awesome to see how big the kids had gotten since I last did their photo session! We met up at North Boundary park, which was a new shoot location for me, but we found some great spots for photos! I just loved the barn and it worked so well with the fall theme, as well as their well-picked fall outfits! Here are a few of my favs with these gorgeous kids!!

One of my good friend's little girl, Reese, is turning 1 and I was so excited to do her 1st birthday pictures! I took photos of Reese when she was 7 weeks old and it was so great to capture how much she has grown in the past year. Reese is such a happy, social, smiley girl, and it was so much fun to play with her! This was also my first time to photograph a smash cake session. It was so amazing to see her reactions to the cake...I just love watching children experience something new and exciting!
This past Sunday I was asked to do a unique family photo session. Along with a few typical posed family photos with her husband and 2 year old twins, the mother also wanted some photos as the family cooked a meal together. Cooking is an activity that the family do together each weekend and the parents wanted to capture these moments together. It was such a cute idea and I was so excited to do it!
When I arrived, the twins were a little shy (one more than the other) but I was able to capture some adorable snuggly pictures. Eventually they warmed up and we moved into the kitchen for some cooking! It was really sweet to see how the family interacted during a typical Sunday activity and I loved seeing how engaged the twins were in the cooking process. I absolutely love it when families have unique ideas for photo sessions, especially when it is something that captures what makes their family special! I had a great time being a fly on the wall in their kitchen and was so happy to capture beautiful images to last a lifetime! This past Saturday was a great day. The weather was a little chilly but it was sunny and beautiful. It was also the first Saturday that I've had off from my full time job, without taking vacation time, in the past two years so I was so excited to have the day to do whatever I wanted!
I was contacted to take photos of this sweet newborn and her two big brothers. Right of the bat I knew this would be a fun family. When I got out of my car, I heard one of the boys say "Yayyy!!" and when I walked into the house, they both warmed up to me right away, showing me their collection of their favorite airplanes. I then got to meet their precious baby sister, who the boys doted over the entire time. It was adorable to see these boys love on their baby sister... At the end of our session, the oldest brother (6 years old) helped me carry some of my props out to the car. When we got to my car he asked "Do you have any pictures in your car?" I asked why he thought that and he said "you're a photographer so you should have pictures in your car. Its a photographer's car..." Can't argue with a 6 year old's logic... : ) |
