I absolutely love when my 'past life' catches up with my current life. In working at the children's hospital, I of course was able to meet amazing children and families, but also really great staff. I built relationships with these staff over the years and now those same friends either refer me to their friends or give me the opportunity to photograph their own family. So, I was really excited to be referred to another hospital staff family for their newborn photos! They really wanted to do their family photos in a beautiful outdoor location. And we have a perfect, summer morning to do so! I really loved getting to know this sweet family and witness dad's 'baby whisperer' skills in action! :)

What a dream baby! Little James slept through his entire session and we were able to capture several set ups, coordinating with his adorable nursery. I really loved working with this couple in their maternity session so I knew that the newborn session would be fun. I always love watching first time parents with their new baby...it's such a brand-new, overwhelming love they have for this new little person and its a true joy for me to be able to capture this time in their life. 

I met this adorable girl two years ago for her newborn photos and it makes me so happy to photograph her each year. Its so much fun to watch her grow up!!  Roma's mom had the wonderful idea of doing a tea party in the park for her photo session because Roma loves to have tea parties and they have the most amazing vintage tea sets! We had a beautiful night at sunset - it was the perfect evening for her photo session to celebrate her birthday!

I've known mom Becky for several years as we used to work together and we've been talking about doing family photos since her daughter was a toddler. But after having her son, she decided that it was the perfect time to book her family session! And celebrate Rex's 1st birthday at the same time! I absolutely loved working with this family and both kiddos definitely had me on my toes! I think we were running after Rex almost the entire time we were out there :)   But big sister Layla was a great helper and I think I might have a job for her as my assistant in the future!
